What to expect at Utah Grotto Meetings
I have been listed as a contact on a couple of the local grotto websites for a couple of years now. And I have found that one of the most common questions I receive is related to what people should expect if they come to a grotto meeting for the first time. While this can vary widely depending on the particular meeting and attendants, there is usually a general format for the meetings. Hopefully this should give you an idea what to expect walking into the meeting rooms for the first time.
Caving Organizations
One of the fastest ways to get into caving is to involve yourself with local group of like-minded individuals. This gives you a built in group of people to get out caving with; as well a varying backgrounds, knowledge, and skills to learn from each other. Finding out who is going caving locally can take a little bit of work and research, but pays off in the long run because you don't have to reinvent the wheel for everything you do.
